Achieving and maintaining a slim, toned physique gets more challenging over time, even if you eat healthily and exercise. Pregnancy, hormonal changes, the loss of lean muscle mass, and fat centralization can all contribute to the development of diet-resistant fat deposits, especially around the abdomen. Though some people use liposuction to remove this unwanted fat, not everyone feels comfortable with the idea of having surgery. For these patients, BodyTite – InMode’s minimally invasive body contouring system – provides a gentler alternative to traditional liposuction. BodyTite is also ideal for liposuction patients who require skin tightening or the removal of cellulite or stretch marks.

How BodyTite Works
The BodyTite system uses an FDA-approved radiofrequency (RF) device to dissolve fat cells while simultaneously improving skin tone. BodyTite is performed as an outpatient procedure while the patient is under local anesthesia, making it one of the most convenient options for comprehensive body contouring.
RF energy treatments like BodyTite and EmbraceRF work by gently heating subcutaneous tissue. Fat cells break down at the relatively low temperature of 70 degrees Celsius, so directing heat below the skin can melt unwanted fat without inducing injury or discomfort. As fat cells heat up, the lipids inside them break down, causing the cells to liquefy. These liquefied fat cells can then be removed through a hollow tube (called a cannula), in a process known as radiofrequency-assisted liposuction (RFAL).
Alternately, if you only wish to have a small amount of fat removed, BodyTite may be performed without the use of liposuction techniques. If you choose this approach, damaged fat cells will be harmlessly excreted via your lymphatic system in the months following your procedure.
In addition to being an effective fat removal tool, the BodyTite device is precisely calibrated to stimulate collagen and elastin production throughout the dermis. Collagen and elastin strengthen the fibrous bands of tissue that support the skin, drawing loose skin closer to the fat and muscle tissue below it. As a result of this natural healing process, your skin will gradually become tighter and smoother in any areas where BodyTite is applied.
What to Expect When You have BodyTite at Our Miami Beach Clinic
Before you have BodyTite, Dr. Gerth will numb your skin with a local anesthetic. Then, he’ll insert a thin RF energy probe below your skin through a tiny incision. (This incision is typically only a few millimeters in length, so it won’t cause pain or scarring.) The interior probe interacts with an exterior electrode to deliver precise heating to subcutaneous tissues while keeping the skin comfortably cool.
During your procedure, Dr. Gerth will gently move a hand-held device over the surface of your skin to evenly dissolve fat and encourage skin healing across the treatment area. The process of having BodyTite is painless for most patients, though you may feel a slight warmth or tingling sensation. After your unwanted fat has been dissolved, Dr. Gerth will use gentle suction to remove it.
BodyTite usually takes one to three hours to complete, and most patients only need one treatment to achieve their desired results. The results of BodyTite are generally permanent, though normal skin aging will continue after your procedure.
Where Can BodyTite Be Used?
BodyTite, like conventional liposuction, is extremely versatile. This procedure can remove unwanted fat and improve skin tightness on multiple areas of the body, including the abdomen, back, hips, thighs, upper arms, buttocks, chest, and knees.
Minimal Recovery Time
Fat cells are easier to remove when they’re in a liquid state, so RFAL is gentler and less invasive than traditional liposuction. BodyTite will not cause significant redness, bruising, or swelling, though some mild inflammation may occur with this procedure. Most patients who have BodyTite can return to work just two to three days after treatment.
An Excellent Safety Profile
BodyTite is less risky than surgery because it doesn’t require the use of general anesthesia. The BodyTite system also has built-in temperature monitoring and control safeguards to prevent tissue injury.
BodyTite is unique among fat removal systems for its ability to greatly improve skin tone and texture. BodyTite can effectively eliminate cellulite in treated areas and reduce the visibility of stretch marks for sleeker, younger-looking skin. This procedure is also used to prevent the formation of loose skin following liposuction.
Combining BodyTite with liposuction can produce results similar to tummy tuck, thigh lift, or arm lift surgery, depending on where BodyTite is performed. Unlike these surgical procedures, however, BodyTite will not cause scarring and offers a much shorter recovery period.
Who Makes a Good Candidate for BodyTite?
BodyTite candidates should be close to their goal weight and in good overall health. The ideal BodyTite patient has mild to moderate skin laxity and small areas of unwanted fat but is otherwise in good shape. Women should not have BodyTite if they are pregnant or breastfeeding.
This procedure might be right for you if you’ve developed pockets of loose skin following natural weight loss. BodyTite is also a great choice for mature patients who are beginning to notice a loss of skin firmness as a result of the aging process.
